About us

In the current climate of today's society, we want to promote positivity in academic and social settings within the African American community.

Our main goal is to attract black people and other minorities on campus. We also want to provide a platform for people of different races and cultures to be able to interact and further understand each other.

The BSU was started at BC in order to start the conversation of race in a place that was otherwise ignoring the problems of our community. We wanted to create a place where everyone was comfortable, where everyone can feel understood and have their voices heard. The BSU is here to create a sense of community both on campus and in the town of Atchison.
